Fed cuts rates by another quarter point

The Federal Reserve cut US interest rates by a quarter point to 4.5 per cent on Wednesday in a bid to protect the American economy against the risks from the housing slump and credit squeeze.

Treasuries Decline After Fed Cuts Rates, Says Risks Balanced
(Bloomberg) — October 31, 2007
Treasuries declined after the Federal Reserve said inflation and growth risks are "roughly" balanced while lowering borrowing costs, suggesting additional interest rate cuts are less likely than investors anticipated.
